1. Make sure that you have time to get pulled into the story.
2. We all know how difficult it is to find a comfortable position, but it will help to be super comfortable so that all of your focus is on the book, so try a few positions and only settle when you’re back doesn’t protest and your arms/legs don’t fall asleep.3. Try to stay monogamous to the book. I know how appealing books can be, but try to stay faithful to just the one. (Give the book your full attention!)
4. Make sure you’ve got enough lighting, bad lighting will not only mess up your eyes, but it will give you a headache and you’ll have to stop reading! (Unless you’re a trooper, if so, way to go champ!)
5. Unless you can focus with music or the television on in the background, make sure that you’re in a quiet room or place.
6. Be open to any emotional experiences. If you go in unprepared, it could be a shock!
7. Grab a few bottles of water, or something to drink, since you will probably not want to get up once you’re into the story.
8. Ditto for food.
9. Use the restroom beforehand… unless you can walk and read when you need to do your business.
10. Either shut off your phone, or silence it.
Happy reading!
